Special arrangements made on Ganga Dussehra
Special arrangements have been made in Uttar Pradesh in view of Ganga Dussehra. Director General of Police Prashant Kumar has given instructions to make strict security arrangements during bathing on Ganga Dussehra. On Saturday, he issued guidelines to all the police commissioners, IGs, DIGs and district captains in this regard and asked them to make all arrangements to ensure the safe completion of Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra bathing festival.
Recognition of Ganga Dussehra
Every year the festival of Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami Tithi. According to the beliefs of Sanatan Dharma, Bhagiratha brought Ganga to earth on this day for the salvation of his ancestors.
